Forever - kaiser January sketch #4

As i have a huge drawer of Kaiser papers and they just seem to be bringing out such beautiful paper ranges that I 'have' to have, I thought I would have a go at another kaiser sketch for January.. this time #4.. I turned it clockwise once so it looks like this....

I have used a photo of my second daughter Bethany and thought the Madame Boutique collection were perfect for her.. The only thing not kaiser is the lace and ribbon and kindy glitz on the bottom roses.

The funny glare on the photo is from the overlay I have used which is on top of the photo...

Can you believe it is a new month tomorrow??  and that means new challenges.... so the new sketch for Sketches with a Twist will go up as well....  I hope you can join in next month!!

Thanks for coming by.. and thank you for your comments..they make me smile.. (and my hubby reads them sometimes too...!!)

Daring You to Scrap.. January challenge

Amongst the many sites I visit in my blogging adventures I found a new challenge site called Daring You to Scrap and their very first challenge is to use paper scraps to create your background..  you can see the details here...http://www.daringyoutoscrap.blogspot.com/2011/12/january-challenge.html
we all have scraps right!!?  I found some really old papers and thought I would use my punches and scissors to make lots of strips and use that as the background for my layout...   I had this photo which is a couple of years old too and flowers from my drawer..  I really enjoyed doing this layout and I will definitely look out for February's challenge!!

Lazy day..........

and a bit closer of the layers...

The green leaves I cut with my big shot and all the flowers are different brands..

thanks for coming by and your comments are appreciated...

Remember - BITW

Happy Australia Day to the Aussies out there! I  hope you have had a great day just enjoying  this great country!

My daughter comes home from the UK on Sunday! So excited! So when I got some Bonjour papers from Kaiser I knew what photo I would use...( I got the photo off  facebook so it is a bit faded, but looks ok I think!) and I have based it on a Kaiser sketch...(January #2)

Remember Paris... I am sure she will...She was based in London and was able to get out and visit Scotland, Ireland, Berlin, Paris and Rome.. an unforgettable 6 months away!!
I have used about 90% Kaiser products including the new rhinestone alphas which look divine in real life!!

and a close up...

i have also done this for Bird is the Word challenge http://birdisthewordchallenge.blogspot.com/2012/01/new-challenge-word-remember.html
I am sure there will be lots of wonderful photos and stories to be shared when she gets home.. We spent today making banners to take to the airport and hang in the house to welcome Hannah home!!

Thanks for coming by today and thank you for all your lovely comments!!

PROMISE - BITW challenge

I don't know why but I lurve Bird is the Word challenges. .I love to think of quotes or special titles for my layouts and use the challenge word in that way... so amongst the zillions of challenge sites out there, I try to get the BITW one done... so the new word is PROMISE..http://birdisthewordchallenge.blogspot.com/2012/01/january-1-2012-new-challenge-word.html and I found a quote with the word promise in it and a photo that I thought suited and just had a quiet time scrapping in the 40 degree Queensland heat this afternoon.. As the photo is black and white I started with some black and white papers and added a dash of pink...

some close ups.. lots of layers.. and I used up some of that fozz felt.. I loved that stuff when it first came out, but it didn't like me... I would have most of it stuck to my fingers and not the layout... so glad I used the last of it up !!!

And I got a mention for my 'time' layout for BITW http://birdisthewordchallenge.blogspot.com/2012/01/time-challenge-winners-and-surprise.html so that was a wonderful surprise!!

This may be my last post for a while.. I will be absent for a little holiday.. I know I will miss coming by your blogs, but hubby and I  need some time out.. 2011 was a trying year for us and we have to take a break.. so i will be back in a little while....  If you were wondering, I will be looking at something like this....
So take care, and thanks for your comments which i will look forward to reading when i come back....xx

Get Picky December Inspiration challenge..

Greetings! how is your new year?? i hope it is going along scraptastically!!! my first layout for this year has been the inspiration challenge for get picky....http://getpicky.blogspot.com/2011/12/december-inspiration-challenge-15.html and it is about the new year, but they also had a really lovely poem to use for inspiration if we wished.. after reading the poem i thought the words were so beautiful and everything i wished for my daughter.. the photos i have used were taken at sunset New Year Eve, the last sunset for the year so i thought the photos were perfect to use..

i have printed out the poem from the Get Picky site and am not sure about the copyright thing, but i want to give credit to the author of the poem whose name is printed at the end of the journalling...( thank you for sharing your lovely thoughts and i hope it is ok i have used them on my layout..)

i have used lots of 3-D stickers on this layout..(trying to use the stash!!!)

A new month, a brand new challenge site - S.W.A.T.

Well Happy New Year to you all.. a new month means new challenges in the scrappy bloggy world and i am so happy to be a part of a brand new site Sketches with a Twist... and the first sketch has gone up on the site....
http://sketcheswithatwist.blogspot.com/2011/12/january-sketch-2012.html

this is a gorgeous sketch which i found was perfect for a bunch of photos i took which didn't turn out perfectly, but look fabulous as a wallet size print..

I rotated the sketch anti clockwise once to suit the landscape photos but pretty much stuck to the sketch.

As many of you may know i love horses, but i had to say goodbye to my last one as she had old age problems, so imagine my delight when a friend of my neice was looking for a paddock for her horse.. So now we have a beautiful horse in our paddock to pat and give carrots to..  The day he came I took lots of photos and i was able to use 6 of them on this layout!! must be a first for me to use so many.!!... the chipboard fence is a scrapmatts one... the twist in the challenge is to use a two font title and i have used two different types of letter stickers...

I hope you can join in this new challenge site. Pop on over and have a look at the other Design Team layouts and i look forward to seeing what you come up with.....

and i hope your New Year is off to a wonderful start!!

thanks for coming by!!
