Pixels and Paper and Lessology challenges..

A big Hello to you.. How lovely of you to drop by!

I have 2 more layouts for this month to put into challenges..

The picture inspiration over at PIXELS AND PAPER was this one..
There is so much to be inspired by with this picture, but what I saw was the layers of shimmering gold and that is what I went with for my layout..  I put layers of paper, lace and ribbons and sprayed it heavily with gold glimmer mist and that was the base for  my layout.. I have used a photo of my DD at her year 7 dinner last year..  and created this..

Closies first!

And the challenge over at LESSOLOGY#32 was "Key to my Heart" and  use a key on your layout as well as an upcycled item..
I have used a photo of my Inlaws in their rose garden and I have 2 keys on my layout and my upcycled item is the blingy heart which used to be a brooch until the pin at the back broke and I cut off the loop and had it in my stash to use one day.. and so I used it on this layout!!

Closies..
and showing the old brooch..
and my layout..

Thanks so much for your wonderful comments and taking the time to leave a little message.. I guess the new month is just around the corner  with lots of new challenges to keep us busy!! See you again soon!

Purple Pumpkin and Off the Rails..

A very Good day to you! So wonderful of you to stop by!
Can you believe how fast this month is flying by? By crikey I had marvellous dreams of getting lots of challenges done this month and still have quite a few on my to do list... however, I have 2 to show you today..

The Sketch over at PURPLE PUMPKIN was one created by the fabulous LIZZY HILL so more than anything I wanted to create a layout to show support for Lizzy.. To be honest I am not much good at creating layouts with random placements, however I hope you can see how the sketch has inspired me..

The sketch..
I have used an older range from Kaiser and the photo I have used is one of my favourites taken Christmas time last year..

LOVE..
I have layered up the collectables with foam tape..
(a closey first..)
and my layout..

Thankfully the rules for PP say you don't have to use PP products because I don't think I have any, but sure would love to win some!!

The latest Challenge over at OFF THE RAILS is to use sprays/ink/mists to change your back ground papers.. How fun is that??!!
I did use masks and stamps and mists and then in my typical fashion covered most of it up with my embellies.. oh well I have a few close ups to show I actually did do a fair bit of back ground work first!!

The family is one of natures masterpieces.. (another wayyy old paper range from Kaiser.. !!)

Closer view of the back ground...

and my layout.. Photo taken 19th January of my Family..

Feeling Sketchy #78 and Orange paperie & Co.

Hello there, I hope your day is going well, so nice of you to drop by!

The sketch over at FEELING SKETCHY is a lovely one and it looks like this..
and I have created a card for a friend of my sister who is turning 50...

My card..
And the January Challenge for ORANGE PAPERIE & Co is to create a layout about friendship with some journalling.. Well I have created a layout about the friendship my Dd has had with the horse we have had here for the last 2 years.. His owner needed a paddock for him until she bought a house with enough land to keep him.. Well of course 2 years later she arrives and tells us she is coming to get him and take him to her new place.. and of course we are quite sad about that. So I got my daughter and we took some photos with him before he left. And I have used one of those photos for this layout entitled....

Goodbye Kisses...

and a closer view of the journalling...
I have used an older Prima range of papers Sun kissed..

And if you have noticed my Daughters new hair style it is because she got it cut short a couple of weeks ago..
It went from this..

to this..
We sent away a pony tail more than 40 cms long down to PANTENE BEAUTIFUL LENGTHS in New South Wales and they will use it to make wigs for people who lose their hair because of  cancer treatments.. She said to me.. How will they know me now without my long hair.. and I said they will know you because of your smile.. that hasn't changed.. I am so proud of her and she is loving her new shorter hair.. But I still have lots of photos with her long hair to scrap!!

Thanks for coming by, and your comments are always lovely to read!! Take care..xx

The Scrapbook Store, Kraft it up and SATW..

Gidday to you! Thanks for dropping in and spending a few moments here at my place! I have a few layouts to be put up on my blog so while I have gotcha, I may as well just put them up here!

The sketch over at The Scrapbook Store is a wonderful pagemaps one.. I have used the sketch like this..

The Sketch..

Peace, Love, Joy
The challenge over at Kraft It Up is to use the sketch as well as a summer photo, washi tape and a number..
I have used a photo from a holiday at the beach a couple of years ago, the washi is next to the photos and the number is the year in my journalling..

The sketch.. and my layout using Kaiser papers..

Be happy.

And the challenge over at Scrap Around the World is to be inspired by this wonderful moodboard..

So what I was inspired by was many things.. I used a photo taken at the beach, the soft colors. The texture on the pink cups.. I love the hanging banners in the middle bottom photo, I took inspiration from the netting in the bottom right photo and also from the white flowers in the bottom left photo... and I also went crazzzy for the first time with gesso and mists!! and created this..

A couple of closer views first..

and my layout..

Cherish.

Thanks for coming by, and I always treasure the comments you leave me... Have a wonderful day!

Once Upon A Sketch - Lesson learnt...

Good day to you! I hope you are having a very pleasant day! Any day for me that has scrapping in it is pleasant!

The January challenge for ONCE UPON A SKETCH is another thought provoking one.. We are to be inspired by this sketch and the theme is LESSON LEARNT..
I have mirrored the sketch to suit my photo.. And I have created this layout for my DD and it is about accepting changes.. Life is filled with change, and as much as sometimes we wish things could just stay the same for ever, they don't.. something I have learned in my life.. and my DD is seeing in her life as this year she is off to High School and she is changing into a young lady...... I have used the Kaiser range of papers Violet Crush.

Some closies first..

and showing my journalling...
and my layout..

Accepting changes....

Thanks for a great challenge again OUAS team! Thanks also for spending a few minutes with me today and as always thanks so much for any comments too!! Enjoy your day!!

WHITE WITH ONE and STUCK?! Jan 1st sketch...

Hello there..
I hope your day is going as well as can be.. Last time I posted our weather was HOT but today it is breezy and overcast.. how can the weather be so changeable..? yet I am still hearing about the extreme cold across the other side of our wonderful world.. so I hope if that is where you are..  stay safe..

I have completed a layout for the WHITE WITH ONE January challenge and it is to use...
ww1 tangerine and again this month I did use some of the down loadable papers provided by WW1, as well as Kaiser has a cardstock with the color tangerine so I used that also. I was inspired by the asian feel to some of the downloadable papers and so used a photo of my DD when she had to dress up for Asia day at school several years ago..

Konnichiwa...
I did struggle with this layout a bit, I think it was the heat of the day.. but I admit I do like how the little cherry blossoms look with a simple flower punch and a bit of water color pencil for the center and a cottage cutz die for the branches..

And I also really liked the sketch over at STUCK?! for the 1st January sketch... which looks like..
and I 'stuck' to the sketch for my layout!

Tis the season to be jolly...

and I have a little hint for you that I found works well... If you are like me and have school books to cover soon and you use contact, well don't throw away the backing from your contact.. it is really waxy and works wonderfully with dies to separate the die from the paper.. I used the contact backing for the die up in the top corner of this layout  and it is quite intricate but I had no trouble separating the die from the paper..
In the sandwich you put the die, the contact backing, then your paper and run it through your die machine.. and it works a treat..
See in my photo.. the die cut just comes away from the die, because of the waxy barrier the contact backing gives..So if you are covering books for school kids soon, and you have a big shot.. keep your contact backing paper.. it really works!! I hope this helps someone with die cutting!!

Well thanks so much for coming by again, and your comments really make my day!! Thank you!!

Off the Rails, Cardabilities #90 and Feeling Sketchy#77

Good Day to you.. I hope your day is going well.. We are experiencing some very extreme weather here at the moment and the temperatures are set to soar and perhaps make new records for this time of the year.. A good day for me to sit quietly in front of the fan and get some scrapping done! That is what I will do later but now I would like to share a few creations.

There is a Challenge Site called OFF THE RAILS that I found via my friend LIZZY HILL who inspires me every time I drop in on her blog! Anyway the latest challenge over there is a color and sketch which was so pretty I had to sit and create..

Here is the sketch which I loved and these are the colors which I loved as well!!

And here is my layout.. and what else could I use but a photo of my gorgeous girl in the springtime flowers!
I cut my photo into 3 instead of using 3 photos as per the sketch and I think it has worked quite well..  I have used lots of dies and a touch of lace and love how this turned out!

Bloom..

Close ups

And just getting back into doing cards..

For CARDABILITIES #90
and my card..
  the sketch..
and my card..
Thanks so much for calling by today.. I hope you have a great day and while us aussies are sweating I know our friends on the other side of the world are experiencing some epic cold weather.. so to all I say Take Care.. Thanks so much for any comments too...xx
