KAISERCRAFT DESIGN TEAM 2015 ENTRY..

A very good day to you! Thank you for coming by today!

As the blog title says, I am creating a blog post as part of the Design Team Application for Kaisercraft. I did apply last year, but was unsuccessful, and after much thought I decided I would try again, because if you visit my blog you will know I am a bit (understatement of the year!) of a Kaisercraft fan.. So why not I thought? It would be amazing to be on the Design Team for a Company whose products I really do love to create with..

We are to showcase a layout, a Beyond the page/Altered Item and a Mixed Media item or card..

I created a  new layout for this post..

I have used the stunning paper range Cherry Blossom for this layout.. and I can say it is pretty much all Kaiser products..  apart from the cardboard I used for lifting up some of my embellishments.

Some closer Views.
I often listen to the papers I am using, and I can sometimes hear them say to me..... cut me out.. True story!!  Some fussy cutting of the pretty blooms..

Another word I hear whispered when I am creating is... layers.. and here are some layers!! and stamping!!

My layout..

Another layout I have created this year using Kaiser products..

Next on my list is a Beyond the page item. I decided to create a wall hanging for my wall.. using this frame from Kaiser.

I used a mix of papers (that is the beauty of Kaiser paper ranges, they mix well together and I dont have any left over papers that sit waiting to be used..) but mainly Be-YOU-tiful papers.. I have used Kaiser pearl strips, stamps, chip board leaves, mini roses, kindy glitz, and the decorative die large flourish.

And my frame..

And I have created a card for my third project.

Once upon a time, I did not think I could create cards.. but over time I have developed confidence to make cards. They are a great little creative fix when you just want to create but dont have the time for a layout..  I have some step by steps to how I created my card.. and you will see how easy creating cards can be.. I hope you enjoy the process..

I have used the wonderful All that glitters range.

Cover the front of the card.. and I like to go around the edges with some ink for definition.
Cut out a smaller piece of contrasting paper.. I dont use a  measure, I just cut it out! and I have used a Martha Stewart punch around 2 edges.. you could use decorative scissors or leave straight..
Do a bit of stamping!
Place the paper piece on the card and add a fish tail banner.. I have cut in half some Kaiser flowers that I have had for years..
Tuck the flowers under the banner and I cut out another smaller banner.. inking each edge as I go..
I added a frame from the collectables.
and stamped my message on it.
I assembled my card and added some pearls, a little flower, die cut leaves from the Kaiser die vines and a little chipboard bow. But then I was not happy with how the leaves seemed to disappear on my card, so I cut out 3 more in a lighter paper and added them.. and my finished card..

and another card I have created this year using Kaiser papers..

I will nervously await and see if I make the Team this year, it would be an amazing opportunity and I do wish everyone who applies all the best too..  Thank you so much for popping in, and as always, thank you for your wonderful comments too..

I have 2 layouts to put up on here today..

The March challenge for SHOW US YOUR STUFF is a quote challenge and it is to use this quote on  your layout..
and I immediately thought of someone whose smile just lights up my day.. yep.. you got it.. my youngest..  Her smile makes me smile!!

some closer views..
one of my hand made embellies is this bow that I made with dies..

And there is also a beautiful heart from Charms Creations.. which went perfectly well with these yummy papers from Bo Bunny Primrose collection..

So many of my smiles begin with you!

How could you not be uplifted when you see her beautiful smile!!??

And I have created a layout for the DUSTY ATTIC MOOD BOARD which is to be inspired by this board.

I have used the colors and I have used the word "sunkissed" on my layout..

Some closer views.

A closer view of the french garden border, gessoed and painted with water colors..

A close up of the smallest corner of the frame set..

and I used a few of the mini branches around the layout too..

Sunkissed.
The border is quite a feature on this layout tucked in the ripped paper..

Thank you so much for your visit and thank you too for your lovely comments..

Feeling Sketchy #117, Always Playing with Paper #27, Blue Fern March and Kraft+ March

Hello there,  so lovely you called by!

I have a few things to put up today, we had a show holiday here yesterday and it was so good not having to get in the car and go out.. so after all my house hold chores I sat and scrapped..

The Sketch for FEELING SKETCHY #117 was an interesting one which looks like..

and I used a stamp and colored it with water color pencils, I am quite enjoying using them but must admit I need practise too!!

For You.
Some stamping, a wreath die, some lace, and finished off with Kindy Glitz..

I found another card challenge in my travels this week and it is ALWAYS PLAYING WITH PAPER and the challenge there was to use the color pallette or the sketch or both.. well being a hot day yesterday I just decided to use both..
and I pretty much followed the sketch to the letter, and my card..

Hello
The butterfly is really sparkly in real life!

I have also been admiring the sketches and layouts for BLUE FERN STUDIOS and I was able to get some Blue Fern papers the other day.. Such pretty papers, and I had some chipboard so I created a layout for this months sketch which I have used like this..
and my layout.. some closer views.

I painted the chipboard - leafy bough (cut in half) and the checker bits with black gesso for a bold matt finish.

Happiness
I used the papers - Montage - Now and Then and Society.

And the March Challenge for KRAFT + is a fabulous sketch with the added criteria of using something that shines..  I have added glitter to texture paste dots as well as some gorgeous  papers from Kaiser as well as adding gold kindy glitz to my butterfly wings..

The sketch..

Some closer views.

She leaves a little sparkle where ever she goes..

Thank you for getting this far, I feel a bit more up to date with my blogging, just cant believe it is the 20th day of March already... Slow down days!!! Thank you for your lovely comments too..

SASSY SCRAPPER MOOD BOARD MARCH.

Good Morning!
I hope your day is going well.. The sun is shining here after an early morning storm, so the air is fresh and the grass is a bit more greenier!

I have created a layout for the March SASSY SCRAPPER MOOD BOARD which looks like..
Isn't that just gorgeous..  I was inspired by the colors and flowers... and my layout..

some closer views of the layers..

Smile often, stay humble, be kind..

I have had those border stickers for years and years, so glad to be able to use them!!

and if you have ever wondered about where I create.... read on...

From the beginning of time, man has needed a place where he could relax, a place he could have as his own space.

The cave man had his cave..
image

Tarzan had his jungle.
image

Batman had his Bat-cave..
image

And men have their sheds..
image

Well I have my scrap room.. At first glance to the untrained eye my room may appear to look like this…

image

But when I walk into my space it feels like this..

image

It may appear to look like a mess, but to me everything is just where I need it to be.
And while I have a mish mash of cupboards and drawers, I do know where most things are.. I do however get a pleasant surprise on occasion when I discover a long lost range of papers or embellishments that just moved slowly into the back ground of my room design… So what does my space look like?..

I have a couple of photos so you can see where I sit and create..

Looking at my desk… ahhh I love that corner!! Everything is around me, I just have to swivel my chair!

image

One of my most used tools is my Big Shot that is just across from my desk and this gives me a reason to get up and stand to cut out my die cuts..

image

One other aspect of my scrap room that I enjoy and this helps in the process of creating and relaxing is the view out of my window which looks out into my garden. Often my horse walks by, or magpies dance across the lawn in search of food, and other birds sit in the tree for a rest out of the sun..

image

My dream is to one day have one of those scrap rooms with the matching cupboards and everything in lovely containers named with wonderful tags on the front, but for now I am happy to have this little place to call my own..

And this is just what it looks like on any given day.. I did not tidy up for these photos!!

Thanks so much for coming by, and as always, thank you for any comments too..
