Hello there, I hope your day is going well!

There is a new challenge blog called MORE THAN WORDS which is a word challenge with a twist...and their first challenge is a doozie!! And it is..
To use a selfie and also be inspired by the word "personality".
Well I am not good at taking selfies, my kids are expert at it, but me... not so much.. however I did find a photo that I had taken last year because I wanted a  more recent photo for a DT post..  I took so many photos, and deleted all but one!! How do you get that perfect angle is beyond me!! hehe..  So ok, got the photo.. now what about the personality???  humm.. perhaps I will explain as I show some closer views of the layout..

Ok layers, yes I have layers, I do not show the inner most parts of myself to just anyone and you will need to spend time with me to see what is inside of me.. Fussy cutting.. yes I can be fussy.. I like certain things just right, I have to be fussy with what I eat as I am a coeliac and cannot have gluten, that was medically diagnosed and I have to stick with it..The butterflies speak to me of being free and I have a free spirit and do not like to feel cornered. And white signifies purity, I guess with that I mean I try to keep my thoughts  pure and my life good.

Flowers, yes I love flowers in my life and on my scrap pages, and there is some glitter glue on my page so I do like girly things. The colors are feminine and I would consider myself a girly girl and love pretty things.

and my layout..

This is me..
So there you have it... there is so much of me on this page.. I dont wear much makeup but do like to have some lippy on..  I am getting more silver in my hair now than gold!!  And there are wrinkles where the smiles have been..!! hehe..

Thanks to MORE THAN WORDS for your first challenge which has been quite a challenge!!!

Thanks for coming by and thanks so much for the lovely comments you leave me too..

KRAFT + January .

A warm hello to you! I hope your day is going well! The days sure are galloping along quickly!

The January challenge for KRAFT + is one that had me thinking and I took quite a few days to get this layout done. It is to..
use hand writing on my layout.. and I thought about some significant story I could tell.. I like to create because the actual creating is enjoyable, but for this layout I really wanted to find a little story to tell that has not really been told before..  and so I went with this..

I think most people would know my youngest daughter is adopted, and the journey to bring her home took more than 8 years. There are many stories I could tell from that time but one in particular is what I have used for my layout.  A few years before we were even close to being allocated, sorry but that is the hard truth of it, the red tape and paper work was horrendous,  we felt like numbers on a waiting list at times, you just tried not to let the emotion of it all get to you.. anyway I was shopping and I saw this beautiful little dress that I held for some time in the shop and then I decided this was going to be the dress our daughter was going to wear on her dedication day at church.. so I bought the dress and it stayed in a cupboard until probably 3 years later, our daughter wore it for her dedication. And my layout..

some closer views..
layers and the hand written title.
a little photo of the dress.
a closer look at my journalling. I cut out a little dress shape to write it in.

This dress.
A little bit of stamping stencilling and mist on the back ground too..

Well thanks so much to KRAFT + for this challenge, I may not have told this story otherwise..  A special story for my daughter who we longed for so very much and were just so very happy to have her home.

Thanks for coming by and seeing this layout I have created..  I love reading your comments too..

New Year, New challenges!!

A very good day to you on this the first day of a new month and new year.. I trust you have had a lovely Christmas and welcomed in the new year with hope and a peace in your hearts. And for anybody who chooses a new word for the year, my word has found me.. Last year my word was fear-less, to have less fear..  this year the word that has been coming by my path is PEACE.. It was on my December calendar, and it has just been coming by so clearly..  Even in these days of uncertainty we can still have peace in our hearts when we know Who holds the days in His Hands. Last year there were many days I did not have peace, I have had some personal hard times  and I often felt torn and hassled.. This year I really want to pursue peace, and when I find that tension coming, I hope to do all I can to find the place of peace usually in the quiet times with God, listening to praise music and reading His Promises, going for a walk in the country and yes even in sitting and scrapbooking in the quiet of my room.. It wont mean I have no trouble, but a heart felt peace in the midst of the storm.
And so.. I wish for you this year..... His Peace..

I have 2 challenges to put up for the start of the month!
I have become a new design team member for ARCHISCRAPS.  I was not looking to join any design teams at this time but when I was asked I took a look at the blog and thought ok, I will give it a go. I like to support those little blogs that put up their challenges each month. The rules are relaxed and they accept pretty much anything, cards, layouts, off the page, canvases and the criteria is a picture and another technique..

For January at ARCHISCRAPS  the picture is this..
with the challenge of using something with water, ie paint, mists or any wet medium.. like gelatoes.  And you can combine with other challenges that work with the criteria.
So I created a card as life was pretty busy last month..
I have the colors from the picture and have used watered down mist to paint my flower... easy challenge..  I hope you put this one on  your list of challenges for the month!

And the new challenge for SKETCHY BOARDS  has gone up on FACEBOOK and it is to use this board for inspiration
and this sketch for inspiration
and I have used the sketch rotated clockwise once..

some closer views.

inspired by the clocks..

There are lovely little prizes to be won for each of these challenges too.

thanks for coming by,
I do wish you a very Happy New Year,
thank you for any comments you leave me too!
